Arsenal are willing to match Watford’s £20m valuation for Man Utd linked striker

According to the Mirror, Arsenal are ready to sign Watford hitman Odion Ighalo this summer. Reportedly, the Gunners have identified the 26-year-old as one of the strikers at the top of their shortlist this summer – and they are willing to match the Hornet’s £20m ($28m) valuation of the player.

However, according to the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United are ready to go toe-to-toe with the Londoners to secure his signature. Ighalo has scored 15 times and added five assists in his 26 Premier League appearances this season.
  • The Nigerian has a similar style to Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud, who is also on a fine run of goal-scoring form with 18 goals in 38 appearances this season.
  • Ighalo has previously expressed an interest in moving to Old Trafford, where there is a lack of competition at his position.
  • Although just a few days before talking about his dream move, the 26-year-old admitted that he has no intention of leaving Hertfordshire.
Considering these facts, Gib Football Show concludes that the rumours claiming ‘Arsenal are willing to match Watford’s £20m valuation for Man Utd linked striker’ are ‘mostly false’.
