GABRIEL OUT WITH A KNOCK

ARSENAL DEFENSIVE STAR RETURNS TO FORMER CLUB FOLLOWING LATEST INJURY

Arsenal star Gabriel Paulista has travelled back to former club Vitoria after he was ruled out of his team’s latest 2-1 victory over Leicester City, according to reports from the Express.
The 25-year-old was called up by manager Arsene Wenger to partner Laurent Koscielny at centre-back following the red card offence by Per Mertesacker against Chelsea in recent weeks.
However, Mertesacker returned to the starting line-up after serving his three-match ban as Gabriel was unable to feature against the Foxes this past Sunday.
He is currently undergoing treatment for a thigh problem with this former side as it is still unknown why Wenger’s medical staffs has been unable to aid his recovery in London.
The defender was spotted by journalist Paulo Freitas, who tweeted a picture of the Brazilian being treated at Vitoria.
It is still unsure how long he will sidelined, but was earlier believed to be out of contention for about three weeks.
He has already featured 16 times in all competitions for the Gunners this term, so far managing to register one goal in the process.
