Spurs Defender Relishing Borussia Dortmund Atmosphere



Tottenham Hotspur defender Kieran Trippier expects an unbelievable atmosphere at Signal Iduna Park, when Mauricio Pochettino’s men take on Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of their Europa League Round of 16 clash on Thursday night. 

The 25-year-old is hopeful that his side will return to north London with a win over Thomas Tuchel’s side in Germany.


Spurs progressed to the Round of 16 of the Europa League, after registering a 4-1 aggregate win over Italian outfit Fiorentina in the competition’s Round of 32 clash.



Dortmund, on the other hand, registered a 3-0 win over FC Porto over two legs to set up the Round of 16 clash against the White Hart Lane outfit.


Trippier has managed to make 17 appearances for Pochettino’s side this season, chipping in with one goal and three assists.


The 25-year-old acknowledged that his side are looking forward to visiting the famous Signal Iduna Park and has urged his side to remain focused and properly execute their game plan.

Speaking in an interview with Spurs TV, Trippier said: "Yes, of course, you see the quality that they have got and the atmosphere will be unbelievable when we play there. It is one game we are looking forward to and yes it will be a great occasion.

"Of course, obviously the fans and it will be a full stadium.

"But obviously we will be going there getting the win hopefully, that’s what we want to do.

"We have to put the occasion to the side and focus on our game plan and hopefully we can execute it.”


The first leg of the clash between the two sides will take place on Thursday night, while the second leg will be played on 17th March at White Hart Lane.
