Ian Wright believes Leicester City will be crowned Premier League champions despite a sterling effort from Tottenham Hotspur in the title race.
The Foxes moved 10 points clear of Tottenham and a further three points ahead of third-placed Arsenal on Sunday afternoon thanks to a comfortable 2-0 victory over Sunderland at Stadium of Light.
Tottenham managed to reduce Leicester’s advantage to seven points after Mauricio Pochettino’s side held their nerve and edged to a 3-0 win against Manchester United at White Hart Lane.
Leicester host top-four chasing West Ham United in their nextPremier League game, while Spurs will make the trip to Stoke Cityat the Britannia Stadium.
Speaking to BBC Radio Five Live, former Arsenal striker Wright felt Tottenham’s near flawless season wouldn’t be rewarded with title glory.
“It is now because they’re not conceding goals,” Wright said.
“Tottenham are putting in an unbelievable effort. What they’re doing to Leicester, they’re making sure Leicester have to win their games to do it.”
Dele Alli made the breakthrough in the 70th minute at White Hart Lane before Toby Alderweireld and Erik Lamela wrapped up three points.
