Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Weigl set a new Bundesliga record with 214 touches during the club’s 2-2 draw with FC Koln.
Weigl only signed for Dortmund last summer from second division side 1860 Munich but has already become a crucial part of Thomas Tuchel’s team.
Sitting at the base of the midfield he recycles the ball and gets Dortmund going on the counter-attack with their wide players and forwards.
The youngster completed 95% of his passes and his touches set a new record in the league.
Dortmund pushed Bayern Munich for the title but eventually they were unable to keep pace with the champions but they are second and will play in the Champions League next season.
This year they have been playing in the Europa League, where they made it to the quarter-finals before being knocked out by Liverpool in Jurgen Klopp’s return as manager.
Dortmund have already confirmed their first signing of the summer as they look to rebuild, with Rennes starlet Ousmane Dembele set to arrive.
The club will lose Mats Hummels to Bayern however, with the Dortmund captain returning to Munich where he originally started his career.
Hummels will have one more game for Dortmund, when they face Bayern in the final of the German Cup.
