John Terry refers to Antonio Conte in his heartfelt Instagram message after signing new Chelsea contract
John Terry has reacted to signing a new Chelsea contract with a heartfelt post on Instagram.
The 35-year-old centre-half was belatedly offered a one-year contract by the west London side ahead of Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Leicester City at Stamford Bridge on the final day of the 2015/16 season.
Terry gave a cryptic end-of-season speech on the pitch at The Bridge but failed to clear up his future after the former England international had previously revealed that the Blues wouldn’t be offering the long-serving captain a new contract in the summer.
And understandably, the Chelsea skipper was feeling a tad emotional after he posted the above photo on his Instagram page and wrote the following caption directed at his family, colleagues, employers and supporters.
Terry wrote on the photo-sharing app: “I am delighted to have signed another year with Chelsea. Thank you to my wife Toni, the club and all the players and management for your support. I want to say a special thanks to the fans for your unbelievable support throughout my career and especially on Sunday that will stay with me forever.
BEST FANS EVER
