Report: Man Utd interested in signing Chelsea youngster Quina

Manchester United are among several Premier League clubs interested in signing Domingos Quina amid reports suggesting the youngster is open to leaving Chelsea.

The attacking midfielder, who has been capped by Portugal at under-17 level, is an extremely exciting talent and is being tracked by United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, as reported by the Daily Mail.

The 16-year-old is one of a crop of talented youngsters on Chelsea’s books but may be tempted to move elsewhere in the hope of finding a quicker route into first-team football.

Chelsea have been hugely successful at youth level in recent seasons but the club aren’t renowned for giving youngsters an opportunity to impress, with John Terry the last academy graduate to establish himself as a first-team regular.

Chelsea interim manager Guus Hiddink may, however, be tempted to give some of the club’s prospects a run-out in the closing stages of the campaign, with Chelsea having been eliminated from the Champions League and the FA Cup, while they are languishing in tenth place in the Premier League, with their hopes of securing a top-four finish appearing increasingly unrealistic.

Chelsea, who have created 327 chances in the Premier League this season, travel to face struggling Aston Villa in their first fixture after the international break.
