Alexis Sanchez scored a wonderful header before the end of the first half to give Arsenal the lead.
Arsenal may be a long shot to win the title, but don’t count them out just yet. With two games in hand over Leicester City at the top, they have a chance to close the gap to eight if they make them up, but needless to say, every game is a must-win from here on out.
Alexis Sanchez has been one of the team’s most prized acquisitions and has lit up the Premier League like a Christmas tree since he arrived in England. While this season has been a bit of a drop-off in terms of production, goals like this one against Crystal Palace show what he is capable of on any given day:
It was a crucial late goal to give Arsenal a psychological edge and the lead at halftime against Crystal Palace. The wheels came off for Arsenal in the title race when they dropped games to some key opponents, but they’re still eager to finish the season strong and remain in the Champions League after getting knocked out of the FA Cup. One thing you can never point fingers towards, though, is Sanchez’s tireless work ethic.
At the very least, they will want to avoid finishing in fourth place, a spot in the table that they have become all too familiar with and has become a source of mockery amongst opposing fans.
