The former England international was angry that the striker was allowed to stay on the pitch following an incident during the European fixture.
Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has slammed Luis Suarez for kicking out atJuanfran during Barcelona's 2-1 Champions League win over Atletico Madrid.
Suarez scored a second half double to give Luis Enrique's men the advantage going into the second-leg of the tie but the striker was fortunate to still be on the pitch following an incident with the Atleti defender.
The former Liverpool forward was also involved in a spat with Filipe Luis later in the game, and Ferdinand, who was covering the game for BT Sports, believed that he was lucky not to have seen red.
"Not a chance," Ferdinand replied when asked whether the Uruguayan should have stayed on the pitch.
You see the frustration. He hadn't really had a kick in the game apart from this one [where he kicked out at his opponent]! That's the Suarez we've seen in the past.
We all know he's a fantastic player but when you're doing stuff like that you've got to be punished. He plays on the edge.
If you take that out of him you're not getting the same player."
